"Hoot" Judkins Furniture is family-owned and operated for over 60 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. We offer an extensive collection of real wood furniture and upholstery and many of our products are made in the USA. Our 5-star rated knowledgeable sales staff are experts in product options and will work with you to choose the size, style, configuration, and color for your new furniture. "Hoot" Judkins was started in 1962 by a man named Hoot Judkins in San Francisco as a paint and wallpaper store. To complement his store, Hoot brought in a few pieces of unfinished furniture for his customers to paint. After a few months of success, Hoot knew the wood furniture market would be his niche. He eventually sold his business to his general manager Bob Watson when he retired. Bob also retired, and now his kids, Bobby Watson and Vicki Marchant own and operate the store. After over 60 years, Hoot Judkins continues to be the Bay Area's largest wood furniture store serving not only Northern California but the entire country.

Keeping with the history of the operation, we have always kept our "Hoot" owl for our logo with the paintbrush under his wing. We pride ourselves in being a third-generation family-owned and operated company and take pride in our team of friendly, knowledgeable employees. Our employees are trained to educate our clients about the wood, finishes and construction of our products. 

In 1985, "Hoot" Judkins Furniture in Redwood City had a 5-alarm fire during the evening. Part of the building and our entire showroom was destroyed. No people or rescue workers were injured and the cause of the fire was not determined. The insurance company confirmed the owners were not at fault, especially since we were underinsured at the time the accident. Also, during this time, the "Hoot" Judkins had several locations including San Francisco and Fremont. So, we were able to stay in business while the space was rebuilt.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Bobby and Vicki were forced to close the showroom for several months. It was extremely important to retain our highly-trained staff, so we worked tirelessly to continue to pay everyone to stay home during this time. In addition, keeping our employees and customers safe when we were able to re-open was a top priority. We consider ourselves very fortunate that we had the support our our team and loyal customers to make it through this difficult time.

We also give back to our community offering donation of furniture to local churches and school fundraisers throughout the year. Our largest effort is our annual participation in the San Mateo County Toy & Book Drive.
